We were able to see the fireworks from the Hotel Granvia in Umeda.














This is Ami's first time seeing the real fire works,
She was really excited.

We went on the ship called Santa maria at Nanko (Osaka port). You can see the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan on the picture behind my husband. This aquarium is massive and you can see about 580 different kind of fishes and mammals. http://www.kaiyukan.com/eng/index.htm We went to the shopping arcade to buy Osaka's famous steamed buns for first time. In this arcade there were many nice little Japanese traditional shops of food, flowers,cloths, sweets and so on. Then we found the bakery we were looking for. They give you 50% discount if you go with a child under the age of 5!!! which was a great offer. There steamed buns were so good. Kyoto trip 7 "Early morning walk to Chionin Temple"

We got up real early like 5:00AM to go for a walk to Chionin Temple before our breakfast. Chion'in Temple (知恩院) is the headquarters of the Jodo Shu (Pure Land Sect) founded by Honen(1133-1212), who proclaimed that sentient beings are reborn in Amida Buddha's Western Paradise (Pure Land) by reciting the nembutsu Amida Buddha's name. The vast compounds of Chion-in include the site where Hōnen settled to disseminate his teachings and the site where he died. It was little tough for my hubby to crimb all those stairs with Ami in sling. The original temple was built in 1234 by Hōnen's disciple, Genchi (1183-1238) in memory of his master and was named Chion-in. Numerous buildings in the complex were burnt down in 1633, but were entirely rebuilt by the third Tokugawa Shogun Iemitsu (1604-51) with the palatial structures that stand today.

I took these pics from 25 th floor of the building near our apartment . There are nice big park around Osaka Castle. You can go inside of this castle, there are some museum and you can see great view from the top floor.
